Happy Mondays Announce Australian Tour May 2013

The recent revival of the 'Madchester' music scene of the 80s saw New Order make their way to our shores this time last year, followed by The Stone Roses reuniting and announcing a world tour. Now, we've got the Happy Mondays - with their original line-up - joining their fellow Manchester bands and are heading Down Under in May for the first time.

Bringing their trademark mix of acid house, rave and indie guitar pop will be Shaun Ryder on lead vocals, his brother Paul on bass, lead guitarist Mark Day, drummer Gaz Whelan, and of course Bez, the group's legendary dancer/percussionist.

Last year, the band announced that the original Happy Mondays' members would be reuniting again, with their first new album together in 20 years due for release later this year. You can catch them around the country at the following dates:

Friday, May 3 - The Tivoli, Brisbane

Saturday, May 4 - UNSW Roundhouse, Sydney

Sunday, May 5 - Palace Theatre, Melbourne

Wednesday, May 8 - Capitol, Perth

Tickets On Sale Wednesday January 23.

Long live Madchester!
